Profiles in History, which has a track record of bringing impressive (usually themed) exhibits to Comic Con (Stan Winston Studios, LOST, etc.), this year has a Back to the Future display, which is centered around an original DeLorean from the third film in the franchise, which will be offered for sale in one of their future auctions. The auction house is taking $20 donations for photo opportunities with the famous movie car, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting Team Fox, Michael J. “Museum Collection of Superhero Memorabilia” Superman Costume Auction Results
As reported over recent weeks, Antique Helper offered a collection of mostly Superman-related costumes and memorabilia yesterday, the descriptions of which included caveats and disclaimers as to provenance and authenticity. Generally, the auction results for the costumes highlighted in the prior articles were lackluster, in terms of comparable confirmed authentic examples of the same style and type of wardrobe pieces. Prop Store Brings Style & Substance to San Diego Comic Con with Array of Original TV and Movie Props and Costumes
The newly rebranded Prop Store are making their third consecutive San Diego Comic Con appearance this year. Their exhibit and original props and costumes are displayed in increasingly impressive fashion, and attract a constant flow of attendees as well as media coverage. Video interviews and discussions of the pieces and news will follow in a few days, including a close look at a fantastic new glossy brochure with information about the company, what they do, and highlights of some of the pieces from the store and within the collection. Below is still photography of the pieces on display. Prop Store will also be an exhibitor at next month’s Star Wars Celebration in Florida.
