Profiles in History & Marvel Entertainment Present ‘Captain America: The First Avenger Auction′ – Catalog Available Online for Sale Event April 14th at C2E2

Profiles in History is working with Marvel Entertainment to hold a special auction for original props, costumes, set pieces, vehicles, and other production material from ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ (2011), along with a few special bonus pieces from ‘Thor’ (2011) and ‘Iron Man 2’ (2010).  The catalog can be viewed at the Profiles in History website in what appears to be embedded iCollector auction software . Their auction will be held during the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) at McCormick Place on April 14th.  Joss Whedon’s highly anticipated ‘Avengers’ movie will be released theatrically in the U.S. just a few weeks later, on May 4th. Premiere Props ‘Hollywood Movie Costume Live Auction’ to be Held March 10th & 11th, Confusion Regarding Material Offered at Auction

The online catalog for the Premiere Props “Hollywood Movie Costume Live Auction”, scheduled for March 10th and 11th, is now listed online via bidding partners iCollector and LiveAuctioneers. The two-day auction includes “85,000 rental costumes”.  Perusing the catalog, the bulk of the material has no attribution to any film or television productions within the lot descriptions; the only specific attributions are a relative handful described as from a variety of stage productions and musicals.   [Read more…]

Premiere Props, Hollywood Live Auctions Present “Fangoria’s Annual Movie Prop Auction” – Catalog Online, Event October 22-23

Premiere Props/Hollywood Live Auctions is hosting what has become their annual “Fangoria’s Annual Movie Prop Auction”.  This year, it will be at their El Segundo facility on October 22nd and 23rd.  As per usual, auction service providers LiveAuctioneers and iCollector have both published the catalog online.  The marketing for the event claims over 1,000 items made available for sale, including a mix of original and replica material.  Though the sale is Fangoria-branded, it is not limited to the horror genre films/productions; much of the material is from a variety of other types of film, including drama, sci-fi, and action. Anderson & Garland “Bazaar” October 8th Auction in Newcastle England Boasts Sale of Hundreds of Movie Props and Costumes

Auctioneer Anderson & Garland are holding a “Costume Sale” in Newcastle on Saturday, October 8th, with ability to bid online as well.  Material comes from the Bazaar costume hire shops in Sunderland, Darlington, and Newcastle Upon Tyne.  While it appears a large number of the 658 lots are not from film or television productions, some such pieces are included in the offerings.  [Read more…]

Search for Original Vintage Television Material (TV Props, Costumes, Studio Assets) from ABC’s “F Troop” for Museum Exhibit

I’ve offered to help in efforts to find original material (props, costumes, set pieces, other production assets) from the American sitcom “F Troop”, which originally aired in the U.S. from late 1965 through early 1967.  There is hope that material can be found and loaned to be part of an upcoming museum exhibition which will run for approximately two years.
