New Original Prop Blog YouTube Channel – Introduction & Overview

This is the first in a new series of videos that I will be publishing on YouTube, to supplement the ongoing content on the Original Prop Blog.  I have in the past published the occasional video on YouTube, but I saw the platform more as a place to host videos rather than as a “channel” per se, so mixed among content intended for the Original Prop Blog were other videos that had nothing to do with the Original Prop Blog.  So this is a brand new channel going forward, and my hope and intentions are to use the video format more regularly in order to produce some different content than what has been the norm.  Further explanations are provided in this first introductory video. Prop Store’s “Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction” Catalog Available, Sale on September 20th

The fifth “Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction” annual sale event for Prop Store will be held at London’s BFI IMAX on September 20th, offering over 600 lots of entertainment memorabilia.  Both the print and online catalogs are available, and Prop Store continues to assemble more and more impressive offerings, year after year.  They are also holding a public exhibit at BFI IMAX through to the auction date. ScreenUsed’s Hollywood Memorabilia Auction on August 25th; Catalog Online

ScreenUsed is holding their next live auction on Saturday, August 25th. The company has their own branded iCollector-type website for online bidding as well as bidding on iCollector.com.  With well over 200 lots, as per tradition much of them have reasonable starting bids and no reserve.

San Diego Comic-Con 2018: Editorial & General Photography

So I’ve been attending San Diego Comic Con since 1987 (when I was 14 years old), so I have a lot of history with the world’s most famous annual pop culture gathering.  Some years are better than others, though for several years running it has, from a subjective standpoint, felt like it was overall in decline (weighing the positives and negatives).  However, I believe that things have shifted direction in 2018, so here are my thoughts on Comic-Con International this time around. San Diego Comic-Con 2018: Marvel Entertainment Part 4/Saturday “Women” & Part 5/Sunday “Villains” Costume Exhibit

This is part of my ongoing coverage of San Diego Comic-Con 2018. Marvel is centrally located in the Exhibit Hall as per usual, and they’ve updated the props and costumes on display daily.  This feature will cover both Saturday and Sunday. The photos further below are as the exhibit appeared on Saturday, which featured women as portrayed in MCU films and then Sunday, which featured villains.  Also see Wednesday/Part 1 with Iron Man, Thursday/Part 2 with Captain America., and Friday/Part 3 with Thor. San Diego Comic-Con 2018: Costume Designers Guild “Black Panther” and “Justice League” Costume Exhibit

The Costume Designers Guild and Art Directors Guild had space within the main exhibit hall this year that featured two original costumes that were incredibly impressive – Okoye from Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War and The Flash from Justice League. San Diego Comic-Con 2018: Marvel Entertainment Friday/Part 3 “Thor” Costume Exhibit

This is part of my ongoing coverage of San Diego Comic-Con 2018. San Diego Comic-Con 2018: DC Comics “The DC Universe Experience” Featuring “Titans” Prop & Costume Exhibit

This is part of my ongoing coverage of San Diego Comic-Con 2018. Off site from the convention center, across the street in the Gaslamp District, there was a special event at the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp: The DC Universe Experience.  The interactive experience – which included “Doom Patrol Chief’s Lab”, Titans Dick Grayson’s Loft”, “Harley Quinn Chaos Room”, “Swamp Thing Swamp Course”, and “Young Justice Watch Tower” also included a number of original TV and movie props and costumes from past and upcoming DC properties.  All was put together to promote the new “DC Universe” “digital experience” membership to watch, shop, read and connect.
