This is the first in a new series of videos that I will be publishing on YouTube, to supplement the ongoing content on the Original Prop Blog. I have in the past published the occasional video on YouTube, but I saw the platform more as a place to host videos rather than as a “channel” per se, so mixed among content intended for the Original Prop Blog were other videos that had nothing to do with the Original Prop Blog. So this is a brand new channel going forward, and my hope and intentions are to use the video format more regularly in order to produce some different content than what has been the norm. ScreenUsed is holding their next live auction on Saturday, August 25th. The company has their own branded iCollector-type website for online bidding as well as bidding on iCollector.com. With well over 200 lots, as per tradition much of them have reasonable starting bids and no reserve.

San Diego Comic-Con 2018: Prop Store TV & Movie Props and Costumes Exhibit Promotes Upcoming Live Auction

Most of the space in 2018 is dedicated to their “Treasures From Film and Television” live auction in London on September 20th. This is part of my ongoing coverage of San Diego Comic-Con 2017. As usual, Prop Store had the most impressive exhibit for collectors of original TV and movie props and costumes. They updated the layout and look for their space this year and even though it was the same overall footprint, it felt much bigger. ScreenUsed is holding their next live auction on Sunday, April 23rd. The ScreenUsed Silicon Valley Comic Con auction catalog is now online on their official site and open for pre-bidding, featuring 191 lots including props, costumes, and other memorabilia from film and television. ScreenUsed’s Fall 2016 Movie Prop, Costume, and Memorabilia Online Auction on December 10th; Catalog Online
ScreenUsed is holding their next quarterly live auction on Saturday, December 10th. The company will with this auction begin to host their events on their own website (rather than third-party services like LiveAuctioneers and iCollector). Additionally, back in September they began to host “Timed Daily Auctions”, with 15 new items every weekday.

The Smithsonian Institution launched a new Kickstarter campaign yesterday in an effort to raise $300,000 for their preservation efforts with the Dorothy ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz that is in their collection.
