This is part of my ongoing coverage of San Diego Comic-Con 2018. There was a large area of the main Exhibit Hall carved out for all things Star Wars, and as has been tradition, they had costumes from their most recent film on display, in this case from Solo: A Star Wars Story. [Read more…]
San Diego Comic-Con 2018: Weta Workshop Prop & Costume Exhibit
This is part of my ongoing coverage of San Diego Comic-Con 2018. As always, Weta Workshop had impressive pieces on display in the main Exhibit Hall. This year it included Thor: Ragnarok, Pacific Rim Uprising, Blade Runner 2049, and Alita: Battle Angel. [Read more…]
Nice Denver Post Piece on Colin Cantwell, “He Kept His Star Wars Legacy a Secret… for Decades”
The Denver Post published a nice piece by John Wenzel about Colin Cantwell last week, going over his contributions to Star Wars: A New Hope and other accomplishments. You can check it out on their official website: “He kept his Star Wars legacy a secret in Boulder for decades. At 85, the sci-fi pioneer is ready to step out.“ [Read more…]
San Diego Comic-Con 2017: “Blade Runner 2049” Experience with Movie Prop & Costume Exhibit (#SDCC #BladeRunner #BladeRunner2049)
This is part of my ongoing coverage of San Diego Comic-Con 2017. The most impressive thing at Comic-Con this year, in my opinion, was the off-site Blade Runner 2049 experience. Amazing.

San Diego Comic-Con 2017: Netflix “The Defenders”, “Stranger Things”, “Bright” Exhibit (#SDCC #Netflix)
This is part of my ongoing coverage of San Diego Comic-Con 2017. Netflix had a really impressive off-site exhibition and experience this year. Their space promoted three of their exclusive series: Marvel’s The Defenders, Stranger Things, and Bright. In addition to some props and costumes on display were some photo opportunities and immersive experiences.

San Diego Comic-Con 2017: Prop Store TV & Movie Props and Costumes Exhibit Promotes Upcoming Live Auction
This is part of my ongoing coverage of San Diego Comic-Con 2017. As usual, Prop Store had the most impressive exhibit for collectors of original TV and movie props and costumes. They updated the layout and look for their space this year and even though it was the same overall footprint, it felt much bigger. This year, the focus of their presentation was for their upcoming live auction in the Fall, though there was also some space dedicated to their current Spectral auction. [Read more…]
San Diego Comic-Con 2017: Star Wars Costume Exhibits (#SDCC #StarWars #TheLastJedi)
This is part of my ongoing coverage of San Diego Comic-Con 2017. Having just concluded their own D23 convention a week earlier in Anaheim, it is obvious that Disney favors their own event as it grows more and more each year. The main attractions at the Star Wars exhibitor area was similar to the prior year. [Read more…]
San Diego Comic-Con 2017: Marvel Entertainment Costume Exhibits (#SDCC #Marvel #MarvelEntertainment)
This is part of my ongoing coverage of San Diego Comic-Con 2017. Marvel continue to have one of the most disappointing exhibitor spaces (in the context of who they are and what Comic-Con should be). I ripped Marvel Entertainment pretty hard in sharing my thoughts on their exhibitor space in 2016, and 2017 is just more of the same. Marvel (“Disney-owned Marvel”?) has become a giant IP that puts all of its emphasis on its awesome movies and little else. [Read more…]
