An original fedora made for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull sold for $19,500 in an auction hosted by charitybuzz. The piece, signed by Harrison Ford, was donated by George Lucas and, per the auction description, came from his personal collection. The proceeds benefit The RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights. Pawn Stars: An Entertaining Television Series for Collectors and Original Movie Prop Hobbyists
One of my favorite programs on television is Pawn Stars, which airs on The History Channel. Pawn Stars is a reality series about the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas run by “The Old Man”, his son Rick, and his grandson “Big Hoss”. The series is akin to Antiques Roadshow in that customers bring in antiques, collectibles, and other items to sell, which includes authentication and appraisal by experts. [Read more…]

I had an opportunity last week to visit the touring “Out of this World: Extraordinary Costumes from Film and Television” exhibit, which opened at the California Museum on October 3rd. As has been reported in the past, this traveling exhibition includes original props and costumes associated with Paul Allen (co-founder of Microsoft) and Science Fiction Museum in Seattle, Washington.
