In January 2008, a costume offered for sale on eBay was described as an “Authentic Original Costume” worn in Superman: The Movie by Christopher Reeve, which was supported by the “Super Hollywood” Letter of Authenticity that accompanied it. Jim Bowers of CapedWonder.com informed me of a new article by Martin Lakin (with Chris King) published on his site today – IS IT SILK? IS IT PLASTIC?: A Study of the ‘Superman’ Movie Costumes 1978-1987. This study is, in my opinion, the definitive primer on original Superman costumes from the Christopher Reeve films of the 70s and 80s. This is a continuation of the first article looking at the “SCREEN-USED ENDOSKELETON HEAD FROM THE 1984 FILM “TERMINATOR” STARRING ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER”. I have compiled high resolution screen captures from The Terminator Blu-Ray Disc. I have also researched the great detail about the development and filming of the Terminator endoskeleton and skull by Stan Winston Studios in the book, “The Winston Effect” (see Book Review: The Winston Effect).
