Dynasty Auctions Company Offers Bruce Lee Memorabilia at Hong Kong Auction Event August 5-7
Thirteen items attributed to past ownership by Bruce Lee will be part of Dynasty Auctions Company and their Summer 2011 sale event August 5-7 – “China, Hong Kong, Japan and Other Asia Stamps and Postal History”. The auction is a joint effort between Kelleher Auctions and Phila China. Included in the sale is a 45 year old letter by Lee discussing the then upcoming television series The Green Hornet (in which he played Kato) as well as a fur coat that Lee, per a story in today’s The Standard, wore in his audition for the 1973 film Game of Death (though the auction description states it was made for a film that was to follow Enter the Dragon). San Diego Comic Con 2011: Prop Store Brings “Comic Khan”-Centric Exhibit to Show
2011 marks Prop Store’s third year as an exhibitor at Comic Con in San Diego, and as has been the case in the past, they have brought an assortment of props and costumes from an assortment of film and television programs. As part of their t-shirt promotion this year, they have billed their experience “Comic Khan”, which is emblazoned across the shirts and the Khan costume from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is in the coveted display case spot at the corner of their exhibit. Second “D23 Expo” at Anaheim Convention Center in August 2011 to Again Feature “Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives”
As reported in 2009, Disney held their first D23 Expo (see “D23 Expo” at Anaheim Convention Center in September 2009 to Feature “Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives”). This year will mark the second such event, at the same facility though, per a press release, it will be twice the size. A highlight for the show will be the return of the “Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives”, boasting “80 years of Disney history”. The event is scheduled to run August 19-21. [Read more…]
Julien’s Auctions Files Lawsuit Against Live Auctioneers Over Michael Jackson “Neverland” Auction for Breach of Contract and Negligence
Following last month’s development of a jury rejecting a lawsuit by collector Richard LaPointe over the canceled “Neverland” auction of Michael Jackson memorabilia, Julien’s Auction has now filed its own complaint against Live Auctioneers, the online bidding service provider for the event. The new complaint, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, cites two causes of auction – breach of contract and negligence. [Read more…]
