ScreenUsed is holding their next live auction on Saturday, August 25th. The company has their own branded iCollector-type website for online bidding as well as bidding on iCollector.com. With well over 200 lots, as per tradition much of them have reasonable starting bids and no reserve.
So I’ve been attending San Diego Comic Con since 1987 (when I was 14 years old), so I have a lot of history with the world’s most famous annual pop culture gathering. Some years are better than others, though for several years running it has, from a subjective standpoint, felt like it was overall in decline (weighing the positives and negatives). This is part of my ongoing coverage of San Diego Comic-Con 2018. Marvel is centrally located in the Exhibit Hall as per usual, and they’ve updated the props and costumes on display daily. This feature will cover both Saturday and Sunday. The photos further below are as the exhibit appeared on Saturday, which featured women as portrayed in MCU films and then Sunday, which featured villains. The Costume Designers Guild and Art Directors Guild had space within the main exhibit hall this year that featured two original costumes that were incredibly impressive – Okoye from Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War and The Flash from Justice League. Off site from the convention center, across the street in the Gaslamp District, there was a special event at the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp: The DC Universe Experience. The interactive experience – which included “Doom Patrol Chief’s Lab”, Titans Dick Grayson’s Loft”, “Harley Quinn Chaos Room”, “Swamp Thing Swamp Course”, and “Young Justice Watch Tower” also included a number of original TV and movie props and costumes from past and upcoming DC properties. This is part of my ongoing coverage of San Diego Comic-Con 2018. Marvel is centrally located in the Exhibit Hall as per usual, though the exhibit space had original costume pieces up front and in a case this year, which is a departure from their usual open air displays up on the stage. I suspected Marvel might have more up their sleeve than what appeared on exhibit on Preview Night on Wednesday – Iron Man costumes – and stated if they added more as the convention went on, I would update that original article. On Thursday, they added an example of each of the Captain America costumes seen in the related films, and I took so many photos I thought it would be better to publish a second dedicated feature. This one shows the Captain America costumes worn by Chris Evans in Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Avengers: Infinity War.
