San Diego Comic-Con 2014: Game of Thrones Exhibit “Survive The Realm” (#SDCC)

The Game of Thrones “Survive the Realm” interactive experience and exhibit was held across from the Omni Hotel in the Gaslamp District during Comic-Con this week, and featured a number of original costumes from the popular HBO cable television series based on the George R.R. Martin novels.  Also featured were green screen opportunities to have animated photos taken with one of the dragons (Drogon) was well (see mine here) as a “Climbing the Wall” virtual reality experience and a photo op chance to sit in the Iron Throne.  For the true fan, there were also professional tattoo artists on site giving GOT-inspired tattoos. San Diego Comic Con 2012: Event Recap & My Personal Experience

As explained in past articles and coverage, my experience with San Diego Comic Con (or Comic Con International) goes back to the late 80s, as I started attending around 1986 or 1987 or so (several years before I was even old enough to drive).  So it’s always a bit remarkable to take a moment within the exhibit hall and just let the enormity of it all, as it lives and breathes today, soak in  It is just a massive, massive event, and an awesome one at that. San Diego Comic Con 2012: DC Comics Exhibitor Space Features Watchmen, Arrow Costumes

San Diego Comic Con 2012: Models from Disney’s ‘Frankenweenie’ On Display

Disney put together an amazing exhibit for their upcoming film Frankenweenie, directed by Tim Burton.  A special, controlled area was set off and available for viewing in groups at designated times. [Read more…]
