This morning the Gilt Group has opened its sale of original props from the Woody Allen film ‘Midnight in Paris’ on it’s website. The site states that all net proceeds from the sale of this original memorabilia from the Academy Award nominated film will benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. [Read more…]
Profiles in History have announced a special “Shoemania” charity auction which will benefit The Arts of Central Florida. Presented in conjunction with Planet Hollywood and DSW Shoe Warehouse, the auction will include autographed shoes donated by a variety of celebrities. Relativity Media has announced an online charity auction for their upcoming feature film, Machine Gun Preacher. Among the auction items is a “rat bike” motorcycle ridden by Gerard Butler, the star of the movie. 100% of the proceeds of the auction will benefit The Angels of East Africa Organization. While the shoes in question are newly designed and manufactured replicas of the famous “futuristic” Nike shoes worn by Marty McFly in Back to the Future II, I thought it was worth mention here as 100% of the proceeds will benefit The Michale J. Critically acclaimed science fiction, fantasy, and horror writer, George Raymond Richard Martin, has reported on his website that he believed two original and autographed screenplays from the HBO series, Game of Thrones, were stolen in transit. As the author of the “A Song of Ice and Fire” series of fantasy novels, upon which the Game of Thrones series were based, the production had sent the two shooting scripts (signed by writers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss and director Alan Taylor) to Mr. Martin to use to auction and raise money for charitable causes. When he received the parcel from the U.S. Postal Service, included was a pre-printed form letter apologizing for damage to the package and both scripts were missing. [Read more…]
