Marvel is handling the auctions for original props, wardrobe, and memorabilia for this week’s theatrical release of “The Incredible Hulk”, staring Edward Norton and Liv Tyler.
Marvel is auctioning off items through eBay and their new “marvelauctions” account. The first listings are live on the auction service site, and include costumes worn by Norton as Dr. Bruce Banner and Tyler as Betty Ross:
Per the marketing, each item will include “a CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY that has been hand signed and dated by the Marvel Studios Curator”:
Per the Marvel.com site, they are also offering a Humvee and Humvee with “Sonic Cannon”, both “Coming Soon”:
This is consistent of a trend of some studios electing to develop “in-house” solutions to using the sale of original props and wardrobe to promote their properties, as was the case with the NBC Universal auctions earlier this year (see “NBC Universal Auctions Live“).
