The upcoming Christie’s Pop Culture auction (Sale 21633) is set for June 25th at Rockefeller Center in New York as part of their “Popular Culture” category (see article). This sale features a Superman costume component attributed to use by Christopher Reeve in Superman III.

A dark red standing/walking cape with gold and black S sewn on the back, created for Christopher Reeves as the title character Superman. This cape was worn when Superman was transformed into the evil Superman (because of exposure to synthetic kryptonite), which was reflected by the darkened muted tones of his costume.
