This might be one of the worst publicized auctions in some time, since it has been going on since November and I didn’t hear of it until I came across an article on Collider tonight. Per a press release from a few months ago, they’ve been holding online auctions since that time. While it is heavy on set pieces and short on the wardrobe material (that VIP Fan Auctions has been selling off for many months now on eBay), there are some really nice pieces offered in the mix.
Full details can be found on the official site at www.dexterauction.com:
Not to be overly negative, but the website and its functionality is awful. But worth digging around for fans of the show.
A foot note at the bottom of the site states: “Dexter is a trademark of Showtime Networks. Props were attained from Showtime and related studios although the network has no affiliation with the site.”
The site states that “A portion of every prop sale is donated to the [Leukemia & Lymphona Society (LLS)]”, but does not state what percentage.
There is also a 15% buyer’s premium and sales tax for California residents.
