Today – April 5th, 2012 – marks the five year anniversary of launching this website, the Original Prop Blog. In Spring 2007, I published the first article, “The Hobby Without A Name…”, though I didn’t have any idea I would still be writing articles five years later, and I wouldn’t have imagined writing approximately 1,559 of them (currently a 5 year average of 0.87 articles per day since launch, which is quite a lot considering I am the sole contributor).
Obviously, the site has evolved quite a bit over the years, but all in all, it is the same, for the most part, as it was when it launched in 2007, offering information, analysis, and news for all members of this art market, though it has and will always keep the interests of consumers at the forefront.
I was hoping to be able to make an official announcement in order to commemorate this date, but have not had enough time to complete my new project. But in the next few weeks I will be launching a sister site to the Original Prop Blog which will break out the music-related content onto a new platform with a more regular flow of such articles (which will, in turn, hopefully celebrate its own 5-year anniversary some day).
I will forgo writing yet another retrospective, as I feel as though I just completed my 2011 year end review, even though three months have already passed. So this article will conclude as being uncharacteristically brief.
As always, special thanks to the many individuals and companies who have supported my efforts over the years – it is always appreciated and never forgotten.
