Tomorrow, March 30th, a fundraising event will be held for “Arizona’s Little Hollywood Foundation”, a 501(c)(3), which was started by Joe McNeill, with the hope of creating a museum in Sedona, AZ that would put his 4,000 artifact collection on public display. This event will include an exhibition of artifacts at Talk of the Town in Uptown Sedona.
Mr. McNeill is an artist, author, and publisher (of his own magazine, Sedona Monthly) who has done extensive research into the history of filmmaking in Sedona, which was shared in his 2010 book, “Arizona’s Little Hollywood: Sedona and Northern Arizona’s Forgotten Film Industry 1923-1973“.
Per the official website for this project, www.alhmuseum.org:
Plans are well underway for the 25,000-square-foot Arizona’s Little Hollywood Museum, which will preserve Sedona’s film legacy for generations to come. Expect permanent and temporary interactive exhibits, tours, workshops, lectures and film screenings. With your generous financial support, Arizona’s Little Hollywood Foundation will ensure that Sedona’s Dream Factory becomes a reality.
Right now we need your financial support, and even a small donation will help us move forward. Contributions can be made via PayPal or check. Remember, all contributions are tax deductible, so every gift has a return.
The Support page includes additional information about donations and donor levels.
Online ticket sales for the event itself close at noon tomorrow, and are $25 each. Below is the flyer for the fundraiser (click image for full resolution):
There is also a comprehensive blog with a wealth of information, which can be found on Blogspot.
