My good friend Simon Lee of the UK (interviewed by the Original Prop Blog a few years ago) late last year began collecting original movie prop costume donations from fellow community members to help two of his friends raise money for very worthy causes. Today, Simon has launched a series of week long auctions on eBay under his username of simovieprops.
The auctions can be found via the link below, with open bidding through March 4th:
Included are props from Aliens, The Mexican, V for Vendetta, Snakes on a Plane, The Fifth Element, Con Air, The Bourne Supremacy, and more.
Simon is supporting the charitable fundraising efforts of two friends and colleagues.
Dave Armstrong is participating in a charity cycling event in May 2012, raising money for Action Medical Research, which is dedicated to improving the health of babies and children in the UK. You can view Dave’s sponsor page at action.org.uk via the link below:
Mark Velente is participating in the Marathon Des Sables event in April 2012, raising funds for Yorkshire Cancer Research.
Many thanks to Simon for involving the prop collecting field in helping to raise money and awareness about worthy causes.
