Special thanks to my friend Vivek for pointing me to these three videos about the history of the now classic Nike MAG shoes worn by Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future 2. The videos talk about the genesis of the shoes as designed and made for the film, as well as highlighting the recent development, manufacture, and auction of the replica shoes being sold to benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation (as reported September 8th).
Tinker Hatfield, Nike VP of Design and Innovation, also discusses the futuristic jacket worn in the film in the third video below. Tiffany Beers, Nike Innovation Kitchen, also provides a great deal of insight in these video interviews. Also participating in the videos are Frank Marshall, Executive Producer of BTTF2, Pam McConnell, Nike Global Director of Entertainment Marketing, and Nike President & CEO Mark Parker. Michael J. Fox also participates in sharing his thoughts about the shoes, the film, and the charity.
