The catalog for the Premiere Props “Hollywood Auction Extravaganza”, to be held April 2nd and 3rd, is now available for immediate download from their official website. Their first event comprised of a significant percentage of consignment-based offerings, the sale includes 501 lots from a wide variety of film and television productions.
The full catalog can be downloaded in PDF format directly from www.PremiereProps.com:
Lots can also be viewed via their online bidding partner, iCollector, at www.iCollector.com:
The event is also co-branded under their “Hollywood Live Auctions” sister website, www.HollywoodLiveAuctions.com, as have past live auction events since October 2009.
Highlighting a new direction for long-time studio asset reseller Premiere Props, this is their first sale event which features a distinct catalog, in both electronic and printed form (the latter can be purchased for $40 from their official site).
The catalog format and layout is similar to those produced by Profiles in History, and also includes an opening message from Premiere Props’ Dan Levin:
Welcome to the Hollywood Auction Extravaganza weekend. We have assembled an incredible collection of iconic movie props and costumes from early Hollywood to the present.

As an aside, LiveAuctioneers have a page up on their site for this sale, but currently only feature one lot.
The terms also state that “[c]omplete payment is required the day of the auction” and that “[a]n additional fee of 2.5% will be charged when using a credit or PayPal for the amount of $5,000.00 and over”.
Also of note from the Terms and Conditions:
Paid items must be removed from the auction location by purchaser at the conclusion of the auction, unless otherwise arranged. Please note that online purchasers who wish to pick up their items may do so on Saturday up to 6pm. Items remaining will be shipped upon receival of shipping payment. Items not paid for on the day of the auction will be charged a storage fee of $100 per item/day.
In reviewing the catalog, no distinction is made on a global basis between those lots obtained directly from studio/direct sources and those consigned from private collectors or dealers. However, some lots can be identified as one or the other either by one’s familiarity with Premiere Props studio properties (and one can be brought up to speed by referencing their website) as well as case by case instances in which relevant information is included in the brief descriptions.
The two-day auction event is scheduled to take place at the Premiere Props offices in El Segundo, California.
It will be interesting to monitor the results of the event, to measure the success of Premiere Props in expanding upon the nature of their business as well as offering collectors and consignors another outlet with which to trade in the marketplace.
