Membership passes for San Diego Comic Con International 2011 will go on sale at 9:00 am Pacific Time tomorrow, February 5th. This follows earlier attempts to sell tickets to the popular event months ago. , which resulted in the official website crashing on November 1st and again with a second attempt on November 22nd.
A successful test was completed in December, in which 1,000 tickets were reportedly sold in 60 seconds.
The organization has found a new online ticket selling partner, TicketLeap, in order to manage the anticipated surge of ticket buyers. For the past few years, tickets have sold out faster, and it would appear that the organizers expect this trend to continue.
Next year’s show will be held July 21-24. There is no on-site registration, and the passes including the special Wednesday “Preview Night” were sold out at this past year’s event, so none will be made available online this year.
Tickets will be sold online by TicketLeap via the official Comic Con website, www.Comic-Con.org, which includes more details about the process:
Ticket selling partner TickerLeap has published some ticket buying tips on their blog at www.TicketLeap.com – “Our tips to snag 2011 Comic-Con tickets”.
