One of the organizers of the “We’re Going Back” 25th Anniversary Back to the Future event, to be held at Universal Studios and other locations November 5th-11th, has contacted me asking to publish a notice for a request for original production material from the classic trilogy. Profiles in History will be holding a special charity auction sale, which will be part of their new SyFy TV series, Hollywood Treasures, scheduled to debut November 4th.
Below are excerpts from a message by Charles Bocock with details about the auction related to the event (also reported on the Replica Prop Forum):
I’m part of the team organizing the big “We’re Going Back” 25th Anniversary Back To The Future event. (see:
PIH are doing a special auction event at Universal Studios on 3rd November to be shown as part of their new Syfy TV show, “Hollywood Treasures”.
They’re trying to round up as many Back To The Future props to sell during this auction as they possibly can, so I’m reaching out to you for help.
All I’d love you to do is put out a request on your blog for anyone who has any items from the Back To The Future films that they want to sell. That can be props, scripts, production materials etc.
“We’re Going Back” is all about raising funds for Team Fox (for Parkinson’s Research), so we’d be asking anyone listing an item to either agree to donate a percentage of the final price to Fox Foundation, or agree a price they want to sell for, and then donate anything above the sale price.
*** Because this is benefiting a charity, Profiles have agreed to waive all their fees for sellers who participate, so this is a good opportunity ***
The sale will be heavily promoted on both PIH web site, but also on Syfy TV Channel and their web site as the sale will be filmed for the upcoming series “Hollywood Treasure” to be shown on Syfy starting Nov 4th.
Anyone with items can e-mail me for more information on this address:
I really need people to contact me ASAP – the final date is Sep 23rd!
Profiles are going to send out the catalog to 5000 of their best clients.
The “We’re Going Back” event itself is comprised of a remarkable schedule of attractions and activities for fans of the film series, including a special appearance of the DeLorean, a “Screen Used Prop Museum”, a viewing of original continuity and behind-the-scenes Polaroaids, a filming locations tour, activities with hoverboards and the original stunt team, and more. The “Million Marty March” will benefit Team Fox for Parkinson’s Research.
