As noted last month, Julien’s Auctions announced details about their upcoming Star Trek auction event this summer, which includes property from the estate of Gene Roddenberry, creator of Star Trek. The auction will be held on June 27th at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, in conjunction with their Music Icons and Hollywood Legends events, all of which run June 24th-27th.
The Star Trek auction will also include some pieces from the J.J. Abrams film which re-imagined and relaunched the classic franchise, the proceeds of which will benefit the Children’s Defense Fund and Student Veterans of America, as reported last November (see Julien’s Auctions Announces Sale of Original Movie Props from J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek at Planet Hollywood).
Proceeds from the sale of memorabilia from the Roddenberry estate will benefit The Roddenberry Foundation.
Also included in the sale are pieces from William Shatner’s collection.
A public exhibition of the material will be on display in Ireland, China, and Las Vegas.
Highlights include material from the estates of dancer, singer, and actress Ann Miller and costume designer Edith Head, a significant collection of wardrobe, accessories, photographs, ephemera, and other memorabilia attributed to Marilyn Monroe, items from last year’s Bob Hope Estate Auction, and memorabilia associated with Elvis Presley from the Collection of “Dr. Nick”.
Other lots include vintage/classic props and wardrobe, posters/one sheets/memorabilia, art and illustrations, personal property, and music memorabilia.
