As reported earlier this month (see 20th Century Props Closes Its Doors After 40 Years; Auction Slated for Late July), 20th Century Props announced that it is closing and auctioning off its assets. This has garnered a substantial amount of news coverage (see Original Prop Blog on Twitter for continuing links/coverage), including a television broadcast last week on NBC’s “Today Show” and now a short video report by the BBC.
Per the BBC report, it sounds as though there is a possibility that the business or its assets may be sold to one party, which would potentially negate the need for the auction of assets, which has been announced. “Great American Group” is managing the sale 0f the auction assets for “20th Century Props” July 28th-31st, both “Onsite & Webcast”, at the North Hollywood warehouse. Further details will be reported as they materialize.
