The website TrekCore, which offers a significant amount of free resources that is of value to original prop and wardrobe collectors, is having a fundraiser to raise capital to operate the site and keep it advertising free.
Included in this initiative is a series of six auctions offering original “tribbles” from the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode “Trials and Tribble-ations” (with 30% of the proceeds going to TrekCore).
Full details can be found at TrekCore.com:
The site is asking for support in a variety of ways, including PayPal donations, the sale of promotional photos by Michael Grecco, hosting referrals, donation of publicity material for the site, and the aforementioned auction of six original prop tribbles from the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode “Trials and Tribble-ations”:
The six eBay auctions can be found at:
Auction Excerpts:
The authentic (used in episode) Tribble up for auction is from the Deep Space Nine episode “Trials and Tribble-actions”, where the crew of the USS Defiant encounters the Tribbles once more when they accidentally travel back in time and participate in the events of the original series episode (1967), “The trouble with Tribbles.”
Michael Grecco photographed the cast of Deep Space Nine in 1996 (see included photograph) for Entertainment Weekly, for a story on the “Trials and Tribble-actions” episode. It was during this shoot that Michael acquired this Tribble, that is up for auction today.

Included w/ purchase:
1 Tribble
Included with the Tribble is a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) from Propworx and signed by Michael Grecco
Signed Print of the Cast (Photographed and signed by Michael Grecco)
As a side note, when I lived in Los Angeles years ago, I was part of media relations for American Cybercast, and we had the cast from one of our shows on “Good Day L.A.” and one of the other guests on the same program was Terry Farrell from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine – they gave away original prop tribbles to the audience members very liberally (I was in the green room, so did not get one), so I can at least attest to the fact that a number of the original props used in that episode were given away by Paramount to promote the show.
In any event, I know that TrekCore has been a great asset and research resource to buyers of the “It’s A Wrap!” Star Trek auctions on eBay, by way of providing screencaps from all the Star Trek series and other information of use to collectors, so it is a great site to support.
