This is an update to the original article – “One of a Kind” Krypton Baby Superman Blanket – posted a few days ago. In the last report, eBay seller “fearlessgreen” had listed an “original” and “one of a kind” blanket attributed to use in Superman: The Movie.
Following the publication of the article, as noted in my “Reader Comment” published as an update to the same article yesterday, the item was removed by eBay prior to the conclusion of the auction listing:
More, “fearlessgreen” had his status changed to “Not A Registered User” (“NARU” status on eBay):
Since posting that update, another collector pointed me to what appears to be this same item showcased on another site with the exact same photos and a description that shares many similarities with the “fearlessgreen” description.

ScreenCaptured.com Description:
‘This is the actual screen used Superman Blanket used in the first and best film in the series, Superman (1978). It is iconic multi-colored (red, gold and blue) blanket that can be seen on the planet Krypton before the planet explodes, as well as in Superman’s spaceship. Baby Superman is wrapped in this blanket, as you can see in the movie still provided. This is not a replica, fake, or experimental backup blanket. This is the actual authentic screen used blanket, that is completely one of a kind and iconic. Outside of the actual superman costume, it is arguably the most recognizable and sought after item from the Superman films.
The blanket comes with the original Bermans and Nathans tag with genuine studio code. It states: ‘Superman, Krypton, York’ written in pen, which alludes to actress Susannah York who played Superman’s mother on Krypton. It also has written ‘12018’ which is the studio code that has been verified by other collectors as well as through comparison to the other production made backup and experimental blankets that did not see screen time. This is the only authenticated screen used blanket from Superman that is known to exist.
It is also accompanied by two Letters of authenticty from two of the biggest and most reputable collectors in film memorabilia. Each of them have signed their own Letter verifying that the blanket is genuine. As a reputable collector of over 20 years and member of the UMCG, I can also add my own letter of authenticity to the others, as I have no doubt as to its authenticty. The blanket was purchased from the collection of Anastasia Salkind, the daughter of Illya Salkind (Producer of the Superman films). She has been slowly releasing items from her personal collection over the last five years. The Superman blanket was sold along with several other original items to a collector in Las Vegas. Many of the other Superman items from his collection are currently under consignment at two different auction houses, who expect those items to achieve very high bid prices. This blanket was actually awaiting consignment at auction, until I requested that it be pulled in order to complete a deal with the owner. The blanket was appraised and expected to achieve a minimum value of $5,000 (pre-auction appraisal). However, I believe the blanket would have achieved a much higher price, given its scarcity and provenance. I am listing it on this website, but if it does not sell, I have already received acceptance for consignment in an upcoming auction in December. If you are interested in it, please act soon. This is a rare one of a kind item – one of the most sought-after and recognizable items from the Superman films.’

“fearlessgreen” and “ScreenCaptured”
I have in the past received e-mails from a Daniel Green with a “fearlessgreen” e-mail address and spoken on the phone and exchanged e-mails with Eric Leong of ScreenCaptured.com, so I will contact both parties to see if I can learn more about this situation, and direct them to these two articles and invite them to comment.
There is also a topic on the Movie Prop Forum about transactions with “fearlessgreen” on eBay (see Daniel Green, Anyone dealt with him?).
