Analysis:
Given the unusual length of fabric extending from the edges of the “S” emblem on the photo in the Super Hollywood photo, I have compared with the confirmed authentic Superman III costume with Warner Bros. paperwork sold by ScreenUsed. As seen in the comparison photo below, the material between the top of the “S” emblem and the neckline is more than twice as long in the Super Hollywood piece compared to the authentic costume:
The Super Hollywood photo is too low resolution to perform an analysis of the fabric type or stitching of the “S” emblem.

THE LETTER READS, “This is to certify that the yellow S Shield emblem was given to me as a personal gift during the Salkinds, work on their Superboy production (late 1980s early 1990s) The above is true and correct. It is believed to have been used in the production of their Superman movies of the late 1970’s starring Christopher Reeve. It is believed to have been used and removed from one of the red wool capes worn in the movie. Thank you”
