Per eBay, Auction Shop USA (auctionshopusa) has converted their Feedback Profile from “public” to “private”. This means that no one can read, access, or review comments left by customers about their eBay transactions with Auction Shop USA – only the raw overall percentage remains. This change also prohibits the seller from listing items for sale on eBay so long as the Feedback Profile is private.
The comment from eBay on the feedback page reads:
Private Feedback – This member, auctionshopusa, has decided to make his/her Feedback comments private. Feedback can still be left for this user and the Feedback ratings left are shown above in summary format. Learn more about private Feedback.
Per the records, Auction Shop USA has received four (4) negative feedback reports from customers within the last 30 days.
This is the explanation per eBay’s “Making Your Feedback Profile Public or Private” page:
Making Your Feedback Profile Public or Private
Your Feedback Profile is a valuable asset that helps you earn the trust of other eBay members.
If you keep your Feedback Profile public, you’ll increase the chance other members will trade with you. Most members want to see a member’s Feedback Profile before they trade with them.
If you choose to make your Feedback Profile private, your Feedback comments will be hidden from other members. (They will still be able to see the number of positive, neutral and negative Feedback you’ve received.)
Important: If you have a private Feedback Profile, you will not be able to sell items on eBay.
eBay strongly encourages members to keep Feedback Profiles public so that everyone can benefit from Feedback other eBay members have left.
Per my report on May 29th (see ““Global Antiques” Memorabilia Listings Pulled From eBay“), Auction Shop USA had 7 “Global Antiques” items listed on eBay in “Entertainment Memorabilia” and “Historical Memorabilia” categories, with several days remaining in the auction, and all 7 of these listings with “Global Antiques” Certificates of Authenticity were canceled early by the seller. The auctions were canceled for the following stated reason in the listing:
The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale.
As of the writing of this article, Auction Shop USA has no items for sale. Per eBay rules quoted above, members who maintain a private Feedback Profile cannot sell items on eBay.
