The opening paragraph describes the marketplace in much the same terms I have, painting a picture of the “Wild West”:
The world of online auctions is becoming as notorious as the Wild West. Unscrupulous thieves con innocent buyers and the authorities seem powerless to intervene.
I recommend reading the full article, and it reflects the trend of victims of online fraud finding little to no resolution from law enforcement and eBay, and the rise of consumer developed resources to identify fraud, share information, and work together for the benefit of others.
