This is a follow-up to the two Gremlins articles last week (see “Gremlins Prop Head on eBay“, “…Update“).
The last article referenced a “Gremlins Prop Head” that was listed on eBay in February that was marketed as “used in the movie gremlins” that was “acquired directly from Warner Bros”. This item was listed and relisted by eBay member slimerhead13 and appeared to have been purchased by eBay member ovie86 and relisted [“AUTHENTIC Screen Used Gremlins Head Prop Puppet RARE!!!” (eBay Item #220217619870).
That auction was ultimately ended one day early with this eBay generated explanation:
The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale.
The seller made the following statements in the published Q&A for the listing:
“I am basically just taking a best offer on the buy it now.”
“I have had a LOT of people email me with offers so please send one over and I will get back with you IMMEDIATELY.”
“I am basically just taking the best offer on the Gremlin head so far right now.”
“I have already had people email me so feel free to make an offer and I will get back with you IMMEDIATELY.”
I had noticed before the bids were canceled by the seller and it was ended early that that of the top two bidders, one had zero feedback.

The seller, ovie86, elected not to answer any questions raised in the last two articles, for which I provided links. Before linking to the article on the OPB, this was the one response I received via eBay’s “Ask Seller A Question”:
Dear jdebord,
No, if you take a look at the other auction that is NOT the same prop I have. Be warned about those sellers with 0 or 2 or 3 feedback selling out of Ft. Worth and Dallas Texas. They are selling FAKE fanmade gremlins props. Ask anyone and they will tell you as I have seen a few of those auctions pass by the past year. Also, if they say that have a Warner Brothers COA that is a COMPLETE FAKE. Warner Brothers did NOT offer COA’s for their props and I have never once even heard of Warner Brothers ever selling Gremlins props. I have been collecting props for years and ask any Gremlins collector and they will tell you the exact same thing I have. Hope this helps! Thanks!!

ovie86 left feedback for slimer13’s “gremlins head used in the movie gremlins”, stating “Great Gremlin! You rock man!”. This represents slimer13’s only feedback (current ranking: 1).
slimer13 shows an eBay Item Location of “Arlington, United States”.
New “Gremlin Prop Head” Listing
A new listing is active on eBay offering another Gremlin head which is similar to the one listed by slimerhead13 and ovie86. evildead4500 has listed an auction titled “GREMLINS MOVIE PROPS WITH CASE” (eBay Item #260227205552), with an eBay Item Location of “dallas, TX, United States”:

The same seller, evildead4500, offered a similar Gremlin prop head in March [“GREMLINS HEAD PROP” (eBay Item #260218829794)]:

There is no comments in the marketing description that speaks to any details of provenance or authenticity in either listing.
While the two heads listed in each auction appear to be very similar, in evaluating the poor photos, it appears as though they are two different heads:
In addition, the one offered at auction that ended March 10th appears to have sold for $390.00. Since it was a private auction (as is the current auction), one is not able to verify the sale based on feedback, since the buyer’s identity is not revealed.
As a point of comparison, here are the photos from the slimerhead13 and ovie86 auctions:
Note that though the evildead4500 heads are of a slightly different style, with the mohawk, they appear to be from the same mold, if you look at the molding and detailing of the right inner ear (on the left, looking at the photos).
