Time Magazine’s Time.com has a compilation of “The Movies’ Best-Loved Costumes”, with results based on a poll.
Some of the results are, to put it kindly, “interesting” (such as the top choice of costumes from all time being from a film released in 2007).
In any event, here are the choices:
- Keira Knightley as Cecelia Tallis in Atonement (2007)
- Marilyn Monroe as the Girl in The Seven Year Itch (1955)
- Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961)
- Olivia Newton-John as Sandy Olsson in Grease (1978)
- Kate Winslet as Rose DeWitt in Titanic (1997)
- Diane Keaton as Annie Hall from Annie Hall (1977)
- Nicole Kidman as Satine in Moulin Rouge! (2001)
- Liza Minnelli as Sally Bowles in Cabaret (1972)
- Cate Blanchett as Queen Elizabeth in Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007)
- Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O’Hara in Gone With the Wind (1939)
