Here are some comments from Steve Knight, unedited, posted with permission:
Hello Jason
in relation to some of your questions the 300 budget was £30 million (troy was £100 million) some of the items I know that were sent for reuse were Troy lattice ‘eight’ shaped shields and middle line eight shapes used by persians in 300, various swords from various films used by Persian Background troops and Arcadian soldiers in 300, persian bows and cases from Alexander (of which we have examples of on our website), Arcadian 3 circle shields from Troy, Troy spears, various items of Armour were also sent from various productions, obviously the Spartan hero swords and shields were produced just for 300, why is it deemed so strange that items are reused by companies, we have supplied items for various films including numerous large budget movies and as long as they get the items required they are not interested in previous use
hope this help
steve
If anyone would like to ask Steve specific questions, please feel free to post a Reader Comment below. Steve is welcome to post a similar reply to any such questions in response.
If anyone has any insights into ways in which to differentiate or determine which props similar to two or more productions were used in one or the other or both, I would be interested in learning that as well.
Thanks,
Jason De Bord
